It is in times of loss that the value of archive interviews becomes priceless.

The AOHA crew was privileged to interview the late Mama Ruth at her home in Vryburg, Northern Cape. 

In a three day marathon interview she was in turn shy, teasing, fearless, emotional,  elegant, down to earth, and yet grand.

And thanks to the foresight of the Ichikowitz Family Foundation, we have the story of Ruth Mompati (1925-2015) saved for posterity along with those of a hundred more, in their own words.
